Advent

Since the summer, my 10 year old nephew has been living with me. He comes to church every Sunday and mid-week bible study every week. He loves church and he loves God. He knows some of the basics, so much so that I didn't realized how much he DOESN'T know.

I was teaching a lesson on Adam and Eve, which I consider to be fairly basic. But since my nephew has never really gone to church before now, he had never heard the story. He didn't know anything about the snake, sin or God walking with the first man and woman in the garden of Eden.

This Christmas, I am excited to introduce a new tradition into our Christmas routine. He and I will be doing The Advent Event every night. It will take us from the beginning thru the bible to Jesus' birth on Christmas.

I can't wait to begin tonight!
